This is a festival that celebrates its tenth edition in 2020, a period in which it has not only consolidated itself but has become a regional and national reference. This free cultural event takes place in various public spaces around Gran Tarajal, designed for the whole family, with special attention to the youngest members.
During these days, you will find 15 different performance areas scattered across the town. There will be performances on different days and times, with approximately 150 artists and professionals from different disciplines making you smile.
Representing this festival will be artists from places like Poland, Montenegro, Chile, Argentina, the Balearic Islands, Asturias, Catalonia, and Andalusia, to name a few. These artists will delight you with the best of their humor and entertainment.
Year after year, this festival has grown stronger on the island. In recent editions, over 23,000 people attended the event in Gran Tarajal, attracted by the quality of the companies and artists who fill the streets with color, music, and plenty of smiles.
This brings great economic benefits to the Gran Tarajal community, providing major entertainment for its citizens, and offering a stage for more than 36 companies that showcase their performances to the world. With more than 150 artists performing various shows in new locations, the festival creates significant media and communication impact, reaching local, national, and international media outlets, as well as social media platforms.
When is the TRAN TRAN Clown Festival in Gran Tarajal?
The Clown Festival will take over the streets of Gran Tarajal in mid-September. It usually coincides with a weekend, from Friday to Sunday. During this time, Gran Tarajal will be filled with children and adults eager to enjoy a variety of shows in a different kind of weekend, with activities for all ages at different spots and stages around town.

Where is the TRAN TRAN International Clown Festival held?
The TRAN TRAN International Clown Festival is held in Gran Tarajal, located on the southeastern coast of Fuerteventura. There isn’t a single event venue; instead, there will be more than 15 different locations where you can enjoy various performances. The beach, the seafront avenue, streets, parks, squares, and every corner of Gran Tarajal will be filled with stages or meeting points for different acts. Once again, the town will be taken over by clowns, artists, and performances from the best local, national, and international companies.
The fairground, the entire seafront avenue, the pier’s esplanade, the Candelaria Square, and even the beach sand will be places where you can enjoy all kinds of performances.

What is the TRAN TRAN like?
TRAN TRAN is a clown show for both children and adults, but it’s not just that. TRAN TRAN is a mix of circus, magic, juggling, music, street theater, costumes, humor, cabaret, dance, games, workshops, children’s activities, solidarity, and culture for all audiences—both kids and adults—and it’s completely free.
This event strongly reflects the character and spirit of the people of Tuineje, their joy, hospitality, good humor, and positive energy. This is why it has become a must-attend event in the calendar for local residents and also a tourist attraction, ensuring unforgettable days of laughter and fun for families and all types of audiences.
The parade is not to be missed. It’s a true spectacle of color and music—one of the largest clown parades in the world! You’ll find crazy cars, unicycles, stilt walkers, floats, carts, jugglers, costumes, four-wheel bikes, vintage cars, percussion bands, live music, a train, and all kinds of clowns you can imagine.
For the night owls, there’s a party you can’t miss, with performances such as the “Fiesta Perraka,” which has become one of the highlights for night revelers in Gran Tarajal. This DJ-Clown show features surprises and different performances each year for those seeking music, dancing, and a lively nightlife.

The call for submissions is open for clown, circus, street theater, magic, or humor companies to present their artistic proposals for the 9th edition of the TRAN TRAN Festival.
Interested companies or artists must fill out the form available on the festival’s website (festivaltrantran.com) before March 15th, submitting a dossier, video, target audience, number of artists, technical requirements, and fees, among other important details.

Tourism sector companies such as R2 Hotels, Cicar, Binter, Naviera Armas, Playitas Resort, or Dragopark also support this initiative, which aims to promote and boost cultural tourism on the island. And established companies like Cajasiete, El Cardón, CEM, Padilla Supermercados, Coca-Cola, and Transgoro are firmly investing in making a new edition possible.
